Watery meditation as a pleasure practice

I had planned to get on the water first thing this morning but my body wanted to ease into the day. What I’m learning on this dedicated 90 days of pleasure journey is deep listening. I already live a pretty pleasurable life, I have awareness of what brings me pleasure and I have daily routines that are designed to infuse my life with pleasure. But what this 90 day journey has brought me so far is a deeper sense of self and trust.

By taking time to listen to what my body wants and then deliver it in a silver platter, I feel grounded in self. My body and spirit feel strong, rooted. I feel prepared to face any challenges that come.

What I desired today was a leisurely paddle in the shade. I paddled through the meandering marsh to find where the lake met the stream and I tucked under a great old Hemlock tree to meditate and do some yoga. These practices make me feel so alive. Healthy and whole.

Bonus that I came across a plethora of blue vervain, it was divine timing since I hadn’t paddled in this area all season.
