Do less. Be more.

Reflections on day 63/90 days of Pleasure

Pleasure isn’t just about orgasms. Pleasure is about feeling good in your body, slowing down and listening to what your body likes and doesn’t like. Taking the time to pour into yourself.

Last week I ran my summer kids program. It is so much fun for me and it also takes everything I have to run that program. I went into it with open curiosity about what kind of pleasure would feel the most supportive during the program.

I did my typical breath and yoga practices in the mornings, and after the first day I went for a paddle. But after day two my energy shifted, all I wanted to do was rest and read. So that’s what I did. At the end of every day I sat and read a book on my deck and watched the sunset. I propped my body up with pillows and made myself delicious alcohol free elixirs and I rested.

This is a good reminder that no & low stim pleasure practices are equally as nourishing for our bodies as orgasms or any kind of high stimulation activities. Sometimes my body wants to do nothing and that nothing can be equally if not more impactful than doing something.

As a little bonus, I’m leaving you with one of my go-to sonic embodiment practices - sounding out vowels in different keys while in restorative poses as a way to stimulate & awaken the body gently.
