Power as pleasure
Reflections on Day 32 of my 90 days of pleasure journey
Yesterday I woke up with the sun and started my day on the water. I’ve been paddle boarding so much this summer that my board feels like an extension of my body, my weight distributing from my hips to my feet pushing down with each plunge of the paddle. A natural easy rhythm.
I tucked in on the other side of the reservoir and did my morning yoga practice on my board, relishing in being the first on the water.
On my way back across the water, my body warm from the sun and movement, I felt strong. As I glided across the water I lifted the paddle with both arms above my head and took a deep belly breath in. With my exhale I squatted and brought my arms down in front of me. Repeating the pattern, feeling my body stretch with each inhale and the power of the contraction of my muscles with each exhale. A gliding Goddess pose. The heat and the strength I felt was invigorating. It felt so good to be sure of my body and my balance. Powerful and full of pleasure.
